Autumn Campfire
61Anticipation
Gather the blankets, pack the food, our friends are on their way!
We'll all go on a trip together, and sit around the fire.
All night we'll laugh and tell short stories, roast marshmallows and play,
Drink frosty beers right out the bottle, and watch the fire burn.
Grill juicy steaks over the coals and eat to our hearts' desire,
And we won't think about our troubles until we all return!
Playful Flames
On the Road
We're racing down the highway as the wind goes zipping by,
It's fun to watch the other cars as we leave them behind!
It might be safer to slow down, but I don't even try...
Soon we'll be there - I'm getting tired, but I don't really mind,
The car is fast and powerful - it feels like we could fly!
Fire Pit
We're there! We gather twigs and tinder, pack them in a pile,
Inside the old, black fire pit we found when we arrived.
I get the matches, strike one - watch it spark up as I smile,
The little flame is eager to eat the thin, dry kindle now.
The tiny insects feel the heat - they try to run and hide,
I watch them, really want to help them - I just don't know how!
Night Time
Slowly, the sky begins to darken - stars begin to shine.
The fire burns bright - it s-sizzles, *pops,* throws sparks into the air.
They race like little fire-flies - spin, twirl as we recline,
We're all completely free of worry - not one could have a care!
Each one of us is grateful for this big, warm fire of ours -
The coals glow bright, the brisk cool breeze sends chills right down my spine...
Turning In
It's been a while - the fire is out, the coals are dark and cold.
Time to go home, to pack and drive, to shower off the dirt.
Our hands are black and grimy, and our clothes all smell like smoke.
Exhaustion slowly setting in... Our bodies ache and hurt,
We all need rest, I know I need a break before I choke -
It's Sunday morning and tomorrow we'll have to go to work.

I sort of wish that I could comment like the other ladies in the aspect of 'wishing I were camping in grimy dirt and watching you feel bad for the insects that are about to be blasted' - but, well...
What I can say is I love the parts about no worries, carefree, enjoying a glowing fire and all of the bright colors and how they dance on our skin and - oh I'm adding another phase of element to your work. Really didn't mean too.
I don't drink beer, but I love love love juicy steaks, well done please. Okay! I like the poem a lot, it shows me another side of you that I find, sexy.

It's not my style to 'sugar coat' anything and I don't appreciate your tone with the last sentence of your comment.
If I didn't like your poem I would tell you straight out that I didn't care for it. If I don't care for some of the elements of in the poem, I would relay that as well.

Yeah, I already denied further comments - because just as with you, everything of importance had already been said on that particular topic. By the way, I did allow both your comments through after a week, just as I promised. I don't like to censor others' speech... It's not my place - I think everyone can say what they damn well please, and no one has the right to stop them. In fact, I think that each and every one of us ACTUALLY has the responsibility to fight (with all we've got) for one another's ability to speak our minds freely at all times, in all instances. The only kind of speech that may be disallowed is speech that can cause direct physical harm to others (such as: Yeah, go ahead, best-friend, jump off that 30th story balcony! I've done it before, it's 100% safe...) Anything else is fair game.
Just for the sake of asking, do you feel that you owe me an apology or not?
Some how I feel something great will come out of this , because it's ok to have a disagreement , and opposites attract. God bless you both and reveal his wisdom and beauty to you all.

Being a 'Peace Maker' is a huge part of OUR job. The distraction from the anger path came just a tad bit too late.
RighterOne has spent countless hours in 'over heated' debates on his other hubs. It was a welcome distraction from his other 'fight' to start up one with me.
